Jellyray: The Jellyray is a large ray species that possesses translucent skin and a bioluminescent body Rabbit Ray: Rabbit Rays are the smallest of all Ray species and are the first rays encountered by the player, they get their name from distinct orange ear-like structure which resembles Earth's Rabbits The Rays of Subnautica are inspired by Earth's rays both in name and in appearance. Rays are a common class of passive organisms which inhabit both The Crater and Sector Zero. Their cries can be heard even if the player is not around them and the Ray's will not become aggressive even if they make the sound.Ghost Rays orbiting around the Giant Cove Tree If the player gets close to a Spike Ray in the Ice Fields, it will emit different variations of a soft cry, if the player gets close to a Spike Ray in the Inactive Lava Zone, it will emit a shrill roar warning the player to get away. Much like Rabbit Ray's they can be observed staying in one spot near their eggs. The Spike Ray will swim around peacfully in the Ice Fields, however the Spike Ray's in the Inactive Lava Zone are more aggressive towards other fauna.

Spike Rays in the Artic will glow a slight blue bioluminescence, however those found in the Inactive Lava Zone don't. This is the same stuff that bone is made of making their flesh able to withstand the cold of the Arctic Zone and the heat of the Inactive Lava Zone.

The flesh of a Spike Ray is not only poisonous, bit also full of calcium. The Spike Ray includes a red and blue coloration, most of which is capable of emitting bioluminescent glow: its wings and main body are bioluminescent as well as its pinkish underside. Its body adorns two large undulating wings and ends with a pair of caudal fins. Its head has two large red eyes, a small mouth resembling that of the Rabbit Ray, one medium sized horn on its head, and three horns running along its back. The Spike Ray is comparably small, having a rather flat body. It has a random assortment of spots on its back. Spike Rays have spikes throughout its spinal cord, and is colored blue and red. The Spike Ray is fairly similar in appearance to the Rabbit Ray, however it is very much older and is believed to have not adapted, if only slightly, for tens of thousands of years. They can commonly be found both in the Inactive Lava Zone of Sector 2 as well as the Arctic Zone found on the edge Sector 2 on the border with Sector Zero. The Spike Ray is a herbivorous species of Ray native to Planet 4546B and a close relative of the Rabbit Ray.

Once creature eggs are found, they can be placed in Alien.
